The club maintains a fleet of single, double and four-seat rowing boats, which it keeps at a remodeled boathouse. From April to September, the club offers beginning rowing classes.

“Rowing is a fun, low-impact sport for all ages that anyone can learn to do,” Club training director Marty Hawke said. Hawke adds, "There is just no nicer place to row than Santa Margarita Lake.”

Our club started many years ago by oarsman Ted English, who had a vision to bring the sport of rowing to SLO County. Under his guidance and leadership, his dream became a reality in 2003. Due to his passion for being on the water, his name proudly is on our boathouse. When you get the chance to meet him, you'll get a glimpse of his passion for the legacy and tradition of rowing. The club boathouse is located at Santa Margarita Lake. The lake is quite a hidden gem, located north east of San Luis Obispo.

Our Club has grown to a fleet of recreational and racing 1X, 2X and 4X shells.  We are lucky enough to row 12 months of the year on the Lake and in Morro Bay.  Come join us on the water.

Directions

From Highway 101, take the exit to Santa Margarita/Highway 58 off-ramp, EXIT 211.

Just past the town, turn right at the Santa Margarita Lake direction sign (HWY 58).

Follow the signs 8 miles to the lake.
